چکیده
Background: Glucose monitoring among critically-ill patients has been a topic of attention for long time to prevent both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, which is important in an intensive care unit. Use point blood glucose meters within some critically ill patient populations resulted varying degrees confusion about off-label use potential discrepancies results. The aim this study was compare the accuracy capillary venous/arterial samples verse by laboratory testing shocked non-shocked patients. Methodology: This prospective case control that conducted 268 critical whom, capillary, Venous arterial Blood Sample during routine requested treating physician will be done same bedside nurse. King Fahd Miliary Medical Complex Dhahran Saudi Arabia. Results: In study, we were able collect data results showed no significant difference between POCT lap venous central (P=0.389 0.208) where slightly higher with concentration 10.18 10.05 (POCT lab tests respectively) 9.18 9.54 respectively. Moreover, mean POC analysis venous, 1.03, -1.8 0.7 mmol. Conclusion: We did not find regular concentrations except glucose. Using accurate compared analysis.

Blood glucose measurements in critically ill patients.
Studies on tight glycemic control by intensive insulin therapy abruptly changed the climate of limited interest in the problem of hyperglycemia in critically ill patients and reopened the discussion on accuracy and reliability of glucose sensor devices. This article describes important components of blood glucose measurements and their interferences with the focus on the intensive care unit set...

PURPOSE OF REVIEW To reiterate the necessity of integrating echocardiography in the management of shocked patients and to propose a step-by-step functional evaluation of hemodynamics proven to optimize hemodynamic monitoring and to adapt the treatment. RECENT FINDINGS Echocardiography has become the cornerstone to hemodynamic monitoring. By providing real-time images, echocardiography has the...
متن کاملAccuracy of blood-glucose measurements using glucose meters and arterial blood gas analyzers in critically ill adult patients: systematic review
INTRODUCTION Glucose control to prevent both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia is important in an intensive care unit. Arterial blood gas analyzers and glucose meters are commonly used to measure blood-glucose concentration in an intensive care unit; however, their accuracies are still unclear. METHODS We performed a systematic literature search (January 1, 2001, to August 31, 2012) to find clin...
متن کاملVariations of blood glucose level in non-diabetic patients before and after Electroconvulsive Therapy
Introduction: Application of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for the induction of generalized seizure was first introduced in 1938. It is applied for disorders as severe depression particularly for cases which do not respond to drug therapy, or during pregnancy when medication is detrimental to the fetus. The debate on the effect of ECT on blood glucose level is still contradictory. However, st...
متن کاملTight blood glucose control is renoprotective in critically ill patients.
Two large, prospective, randomized, controlled trials have shown a beneficial effect of intensive insulin therapy (IIT) on the kidney function of critically ill patients. The data from these trials were combined for performance of a more detailed analysis of the renoprotective effect of IIT. After exclusion of 41 patients with preadmission ESRD, the study sample comprised 2707 critically ill pa...
